APAV x FPF Foundation: Domestic Violence Awareness Campaign

SINCE THE LAST WOMEN'S WORLD CUP
56 WOMEN DIED VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN PORTUGAL.

ABSENCE HAS A NAME: VIOLENCE.

"Absence has a name: Violence."

Awareness campaign developed by the FPF Foundation in partnership with APAV to mark the National Day of Mourning for Victims of Domestic Violence. Launched during the Portugal Women’s National Team match against Slovakia, the initiative used the visibility of football to raise awareness, honour the 56 women killed by domestic violence in Portugal since the last Women’s World Cup, and promote support resources for victims and their families.

Concept

In respect for each death, I developed a sober concept around the theme: Absence.

The locker room is empty, but there is a player left. In the middle of it there's a kit that will never be worn - not in this game, not ever again - it stays untouchable.

The player is the woman who died. 56 victims.
